A New IndyILR Champion Has Been Crowned

11th December 2018

It was a nail biting, close fought contest that has seen Scott – forsetix13 emerge as our only second ever IndyILR Champion. Scott took the crown off Michael Davis who won the title in its debut season. Rinke Mouris narrowly missed out on the title by only 5 points in the end after a somewhat disasterous showing from Scott in the final race of the season. Maik ( MKBorn2000) came a respectable 3rd but unfortunately was never really in the hunt after a lap 5 incident in the final race.

The title in the end was decided on the last lap of Indy500, unfortunately the race was not broadcasted, but Scott managed to avoid being lapped by MichaelDavis93 on lap 73 to continue and as a result managed to take Its-Me123 to clinch 6 places and that crucial 5 extra points that would sealed the title for him… IS THAT GLOCK?! If Rinke had won he would of won the last race at Indy he would of won the title on a virtue of more race wins… only 9 seconds between him and MichaelDavis93 proved to be the difference.

Scott has shown incredible pace this season, which has come somewhat as as suprise to many. He manged to pick up 4 podiums in 5 races but only 1 race win, yet it proved to be enough in the end. His stand out performance in the Texas Speedway proved to be the point the title was more than likely going home with him.

In 5 races we had 5 different winners – Bulletproof in Long Beach, Rinke in Indy Race course, Scott at Texas, MKBorn at Watkins Glen and former champion Michael Davis winning the Indy500. An exciting spread of talent across the field with close fought racing with some disasters chucked in for good measure made the races so unpredictable. Michael unfortunately only joined us for the last 2 races but proved to be naturally on the pace in both races.

Honourable mentions to EVR_Matt , YRacer and ExpritX30/LMC_Will/Azr_Will/’Insert another PSN here’ for some spirited performances and each picking up podiums at some point during the season. ExpritX30 will be wondering what could of been after 2 disasters in the last 2 races but certainlty does have the pace to compete at the top. EVR_Matt started and finished the season with podiums but maybe he will want to forget the races inbetween. YRacers debut season in IndyILR proved a successful one clinching P5 in the standings and will be wanting more next season.

Congratulations to Scott on his first ever ILR title!

We hope to have season 3 underway sooner then later – with dates looking at March/April 2019 as we will alternate between Indycar on Project Cars 2 and our GT Sport tiers.
